My story...
I grew up as a shy, deeply sensitive girl in a small town where I never felt I fit in.
I could feel everything—the unspoken tension in a room, the pain behind someone's smile, the energy that shifted when I walked in. I saw what others missed, felt what others ignored.
And I sensed what I couldn't see...spirit, source, the presence of something vast and loving beyond the veil. I knew there were endless possibilities beyond my human comprehension, dimensions of reality most people dismissed as imagination.
But instead of trusting these gifts, I learned to fear them and silence them.
Afraid of my own intensity, my knowing. Afraid of my voice. Afraid I was simply too much for a world that seemed to want me smaller, quieter, more..."normal."
I spent years trying to fold myself into something more acceptable, convinced that my sensitivity was a flaw rather than a superpower I hadn't yet learned to wield.
But "too much" was never the problem. Hiding it was.
After college, I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to live with my boyfriend (now husband)—and began my long journey searching for belonging, and perhaps for myself.
I spent the next 20+ years in corporate leadership, slowly, painfully learning to use my voice. To advocate for others who felt unseen. To lead with both strength and compassion in spaces that often rewarded neither.
I became good at it. Really good. Leaders noticed. Promotions followed. I gained resilience, strategic thinking, and deep wisdom about creating cultures where people could actually thrive, not just survive.
From the outside, I was succeeding.
But inside? I was dimming.
I'd learned to use my voice for others—but I'd lost the ability to hear what my own voice was trying to tell me.
At 35, my body delivered the message I'd been ignoring for years.
First, burnout. Then, breast cancer.
Then, while I was still in treatment, barely holding myself together—I was laid off.
For years, layoffs had loomed year over year—with that constant undercurrent of fear about security, about tomorrow. I'd watched it happen to others, felt that collective dread in every restructuring meeting.
Now it was my reality.
I had two small children. A husband. A mortgage. Bills that didn't stop coming. And questions that kept me awake at night: How do we keep our home? How do I contribute to our family? What if I can't heal? What if I can't work the way I used to?
And yet—looking back now, I see the gift hidden in that devastating moment: I couldn't patch myself back together and return to normal. There was no normal to return to.
I had to completely rebuild. Not just my career—my entire relationship with work, with worth, with what it means to live a meaningful life.
My body wouldn't let me go back to the way things were. My soul wouldn't let me.
I had to find another way.
The Turn...Finding Purpose + Place
That crisis became my catalyst.
It led me to where I am today—Ultragenyx, a company actually built on purpose, filled with genuinely heart-centered people working to change lives affected by rare diseases. As Head of Global Internal Communications with a focus on culture, I finally found a place where I could bring all of who I am to the work.
Not just the polished, professional parts. All of it.
Here, I learned something that changed everything: You don't have to choose between career and calling.
I discovered I could lead authentically, bring compassion into corporate spaces, help others find and use their voices, and create cultures where people feel seen—all while honoring my intuitive, empathic gifts. The very sensitivity I'd once tried to hide became my greatest leadership asset.
This work taught me that leadership is service. That culture is sacred. That bringing your whole self forward isn't just allowed—it's essential.
And as I grew in this role, something else became clear: The gifts I was bringing to organizational culture? People were hungry for them in their personal lives too.
What I Do Now...Integration, Not Division
Today, alongside my communications leadership work, I offer heart-centered intuitive coaching, grief companionship, and sacred space consultation.
This isn't about leaving one world for another—it's about integration.
Every chapter of my journey—including the painful ones—taught me something I needed to know.
The years of finding my voice in corporate spaces gave me the ability to help others find theirs. The burnout taught me about boundaries and sacred rest. The cancer taught me to listen to the body's wisdom before it has to scream. The leadership roles taught me how to bring heart into any space, no matter how resistant it might seem.
I'm grateful for all of it.
Even the hard parts. Especially the hard parts.
Because they led me here—to work that honors both my professional expertise and my spiritual gifts, my strategic mind and my intuitive heart.
I no longer have to choose between being effective and being authentic.
And I help others discover they don't have to either.

Beyond the Resume:
I'm also deeply creative—always have been.
I have a gift for seeing beauty and bringing it forward. Whether it's arranging a room, choosing colors that shift energy, or bringing the outside in through plants and natural elements, I see spaces as living, breathing extensions of who we are.
My love for the land runs deep. Plants, trees, flowers—they teach me about patience, seasons, letting go, and renewal. They remind me that growth doesn't happen on our timeline, and that beauty doesn't have to be forced.
This creative, nature-connected part of me isn't separate from my coaching or my communications work—it's woven through everything I do.
I believe we're meant to live in beauty. To surround ourselves with what makes us breathe deeper, feel lighter, come home to ourselves.
That's what I help create: spaces—internal and external—where you can finally exhale.
